Best Ice Cream in West Palm Beach

Possibly the best thing about living in warm and wonderful West Palm Beach is that I can eat ice cream all year long, and trust me, I do. So, I decided to compile a list of the Best Ice Cream in West Palm Beach, Florida.

As a self-proclaimed ice cream aficionado, I take my ice cream seriously. Count on me to always order 3 scoops and lots of toppings because there are too many tempting flavors to just choose one. Not to brag, but I’ve been known to devour an entire pint in a single-sitting, so the bottom line is I’m an ice cream expert, and you will love the ice cream shops on this list.

Best Ice Cream in West Palm Beach

Crema

West Palm Beach’s first Thai rolled ice cream shop makes the freshest ice cream in town. It’s as much fun to watch your ice cream being made as it is to eat. Crema begins your creation with fresh from Florida all natural cream which is poured onto a minus 15º celsius metal tray. Then the magic happens as they mix in your choice of toppings and roll it into the best-looking ice cream in town. The end result is both delicious and instagram-worthy. My personal favorite is Dulce de Leche made with Vanilla Ice Cream, Vanilla Wafers, Condensed Milk, Dulce De Leche. P.S. – vegan ice cream is also available.

Sloan’s Ice Cream

For over 20 years, Sloan’s Ice Cream has been a favorite in West Palm Beach. It’s a fantasyland filled with ice cream, candy, cookies, brownies, toys, moving trains, twinkling chandeliers and a bathroom that’s been named one of the top 10 in the country! All this delicious fun is hard to miss with their bright pink facade beckoning locals and tourists in downtown West Palm Beach and Rosemary Square. Lucky me…I get to enjoy a delicious scoop of Sloan’s Ice Cream every day this year thanks to my husband for giving me what just might be the best gift ever! If you’re walking around downtown, don’t be surprised to see me enjoying my ice cream on the waterfront.

Sugar Milk

Located in the trendy Grandview Public Market, Sugar Milk serves Hong Kong style bubble waffles (aka puffle cones) filled with soft-serve ice cream and topped with all sorts of deliciousness. You could even justify ice cream for breakfast with their Breakfast of Champions flavor featuring a blend of vanilla ice cream and corn flakes, topped with strawberries, bananas and honey. How about the Banoreo flavor which blends vanilla ice cream and oreos, topped with banana, oreo crunch and condensed milk…oh yeah! According to the Today Show, “These over-the-top puffle cones are the cool dessert trend you need to try.”

Matty’s Gelato Factory

Matty’s Gelato Factory is not in the West Palm Beach city limits, but they made my list because according to both Travel & Leisure and Food & Wine Magazines, they serve the best ice cream in the state! With accolades like that, it’s worth the 20 minute drive north to Juno Beach. A Yelp reviewer recently said, “Amazing gelato at reasonable prices, served by Matt & his family with a warm and friendly smile. Chocolaholics will love the Chocolate Fudge Brownie flavor–rich and delicious. Matt makes new flavors all the time–another favorite is the Key Lime–ask for graham cracker crumbs on top–awesome!” Personally, Coconut Caramel Crunch is on my must-try list.
