The Best Tacos in West Palm Beach

Best Tacos in West Palm Beach: A Flavor Packed Tour of the Top 3 Spots

West Palm Beach may be known for its beaches, bougie brunches, and sunny vibes—but let’s be real. If you’re not exploring its taco scene, are you even living?

From wild fusion creations to tried-and-true Mexican staples, I’ve rounded up three must-visit taco spots that are redefining what it means to eat with your hands. Come hungry, leave obsessed.

El Segundo

Vibe: Baja surf shack meets culinary playground

Don’t let the chaotic traffic of Southern Blvd fool you—El Segundo is a total vibe shift. Think palm trees, picnic tables, and just enough Subculture Group edge to keep things interesting. Since opening its doors in 2024, it’s quickly become one of the hottest taco destinations in town—and one of my personal favorites.

This place is playful, creative, and doesn’t take itself too seriously—except when it comes to flavor. The tacos? Wild, weird, and wildly good.

Must-Try Tacos at El Segundo:

  • Brisket Burnt Ends
House-smoked brisket + aji Colombiano + spiced crema = pure meat magic.
  • El Big Mac
Yes, this is real. Wagyu beef smashburger, queso Americano, secret sauce, pickles… all stuffed in a smashed sesame seed bun taco shell. Don’t ask questions—just eat it.
  • Chicharrón Ceviche
Crispy pork belly meets ceviche? Yes please. Add avocado, tomato, Colombian aji and call it a party.

Cholo Soy Cocina

Vibe: Foodie heaven with a back courtyard surprise
Claim to Fame: Guy Fieri-approved

Nestled in historic Antique Row, Cholo Soy is the kind of place that makes foodies swoon and locals proud. Chef Clay Carnes, appeared on food networks Diner Drive in’s and Dives (you also might recognize him from Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen) one of the premier stops on our Historic West Palm Beach Neighborhood Food Tour Tour. Cholo Soy crafts Ecuadorian inspired street food with a South Florida soul.

Yes, it’s tiny inside, but plenty of seating in the back courtyard.

Must-Try Tacos at Cholo Soy:

  • Pescadito Frito
Lager-battered local fish, guac, pineapple salsa, pickled red onion & house-made Cholo sauce.
  • Shrimp BLT
Grilled shrimp, bacon crumbles, chimichurri aioli, queso fresco… It’s the taco you have been dreaming of.
  • Spicy Crispy Chicken
Buttermilk fried chicken doused in pineapple habanero hot sauce. It hurts so good.

Pro tip: Don’t forget to grab a draft margarita… or three. And ask for extra Cholo sauce—you’ll want to drink it.

Rivales

Vibe: Hip and Authentic and Mexican cantina, zero fluff

If El Segundo is the wild child and Cholo Soy is the culinary artist, the owners of Rivales, Jimmy and Alberto are the old souls who know exactly who they are. Making traditional food, authentically.  Everything here is made from scratch. Ingredients are fresh, local, and organic. The place is Warm, welcoming, and veryMexican. The art is bold, the music is on point, and the cocktail game is strong.

This is where you go for the classics—done right.

Must-Try Tacos at Rivales:

  • Al Pastor
Slow-roasted pork in guajillo and pasilla chiles. Classic, spicy, perfect.
  • Lengua
Yes, it’s beef tongue. No, don’t knock it till you try it. Melts in your mouth. Topped with onions and cilantro.
  • Short Rib Birria
Fall-apart short rib, melty Oaxaca cheese, and consomé for dipping. It’s not a taco—it’s a
    lifestyle.

Final Thoughts:

West Palm Beach might not look like a taco capital at first glance, but peel back the palm fronds and you’ll find some serious culinary heat. Whether you’re into mashups like the El Big Mac taco, food-truck fusion from a Food Network champ, or ultra-authentic street tacos that Grandma would approve of, this city’s taco scene delivers.

Grab your friends, bring your appetite, and taco tour West Palm like a pro.
