Breakfast Bliss at the West Palm Beach GreenMarket
West Palm Beach GreenMarket Breakfast Recommendations
If you know me, you know I’m borderline obsessed with the West Palm Beach GreenMarket. Founded back in 1995 by then–Mayor Nancy Graham, it started as a humble setup in the old City Hall parking lot with just 13 vendors. Fast-forward to today, and it’s grown into a foodie paradise with over 150 vendors slinging everything from farm-fresh veggies to craft coffee. But let’s be real—I’m here for breakfast. The GreenMarket is basically my Saturday morning happy place, and I’ve got my routine down to a science.
Stop #1: The Tribe Kitchen
My first stop is usually The Tribe Kitchen, a new(ish) addition this year that’s already stolen my carb-loving heart. Founded by Chef Jamie in 2016, The Tribe is all about clean, allergy-friendly baked goods made with ingredients you can actually pronounce. Health halos aside, this is hands-down one of the most delicious bakeries around. Her bagel bombs have that perfect chewy-crunchy balance with a cloud of cream cheese inside that dreams are made of. And the hand pies (Jamie calls them “Pop Tarts,” but these are on a whole other level) take me straight back to Saturday morning cartoons—only now I’m an adult with coffee and zero regrets.
Stop #2: Palm Beach Cider Donuts
Next up: Palm Beach Cider Donuts—and honestly, you’ll smell them before you see them. Even if you swore you “weren’t getting donuts today,” yeah… good luck with that. These little rings of happiness are somehow dense and light, sweet and a little savory, especially when dunked in their ridiculous apple caramel dipping sauce. They’re small, which means you can eat a dozen without judgment (right?). I usually walk the market with a cone of them in hand and take a box home for my kids—who have no idea how many I “sampled” on the way. Owners Travis and Melissa started slinging these beauties in 2022 after years of learning the craft, and now they’ve got a brick-and-mortar on Northlake. (797 northlake blvd ) Go. Get. The. Donuts.
Stop #3: Tok Tok Arepas
Finally, when I need something a little heartier (and slightly less sugary), I hit Tok Tok Arepas—home of what I lovingly call the “breakfast beast.” Their arepa de choclo is a Colombian dream made of sweet cornmeal, corn kernels, and quesito cheese, griddled to golden perfection. Then it’s split open and stuffed with spicy chorizo, avocado, peppers, onions, and a glorious over-easy egg. That first bite? The yolk breaks, runs everywhere, and you’re left blissfully covered in delicious chaos. Owners Gabby and Luis—childhood friends turned married dream team—moved from Venezuela to share their magic with South Florida, and thank goodness they did.
By the time I’m done, I’ve usually had enough breakfast for three people, but zero regrets. The West Palm Beach GreenMarket isn’t just a Saturday stop—it’s a full-on culinary adventure. Bring your appetite (and some napkins).
