Confessions of a Pizza Obsessive: My Top Spots You Have to Try for Pizza in West Palm Beach
Anyone who knows me knows this one undeniable truth: I live for pizza. I truly believe it’s the perfect food—deceptively simple, infinitely versatile, and just downright delicious.
I go to the gym… so I can eat more pizza.
I plan vacations based on a city’s pizza scene.
I eat it several times a week—and I regret nothing.
After years of (very delicious) research, I’ve curated a few favorite pizza spots that deserve your attention. Each one brings its own unique flavor, style, and story to the table.
🍕 Grato – West Palm Beach, FL
Chef Clay Conley’s Italian gem—and sister restaurant to the acclaimed Buccan across the bridge—serves up some of the most exciting pies in South Florida. Grato’s wood-fired pizzas are rustic, soulful, and made with 48-hour fermented dough, hand-stretched right in front of your eyes at their buzzing, always-lively pizza bar.
Sure, they nail the classics like a Margherita with a perfectly crispy, airy crust and gooey fresh mozzarella—but I’m all about the bold, unexpected options. Sweet, spicy, smoky… there’s a pizza here for every mood.
My Go-To Pies at Grato:
DIAVOLA
Smoked mozzarella, pepperoni, peppers, onions, hot honey
PEACHES & BURRATA
Parmesan, aged balsamic, arugula
🍕 Adrienne’s Pizza Bar – West Palm Beach, FL
Every Sunday, without fail, you’ll find me at Adrienne’s with my kids, eating what we lovingly call “pizza brunch.” We always start with the meatball salad (don’t question it—just try it), then order three distinct styles of pizza to compare and contrast the nuances in crunch, chew, pull, sweetness, acidity, and char.
It’s like a pizza masterclass in one meal. And honestly? Toppings are optional—these pies shine all on their own.
A Tour of Styles at Adrienne’s:
NAPOLI 1889
MARGHERITA | Mozzarella, tomato
ADRIENNE’S ORIGINAL SICILIAN
THE ORIGINAL SQUARE | Mozzarella, pecorino, parmesan, tomato sauce
CLASSIC NYC
TRADITIONAL | Sliced mozzarella, tomato sauce, basil
🍕 Ah-Beetz – West Palm Beach, FL (and beyond!)
Ah-Beetz has been taking the pizza world by storm since opening in 2016, with two West Palm locations and more on the way nationwide. The name is a nod to the New Haven pronunciation of “apizza,” itself rooted in the Neapolitan dialect.
This isn’t your average slice. New Haven-style pizza is thin, charred, and cooked in a coal-fired oven that reaches a sizzling 1,283°F. That distinctive char? Or “char-money” as I like to call it…That’s flavor, baby.
These Are Worth the Char-mony:
WHITE CLAM APIZZA
Mozzarella, fresh clams, pecorino Romano, olive oil, oregano, garlic
BBQ CHICKEN APIZZA
BBQ sauce, mozzarella, pecorino Romano, oven-roasted chicken, bacon
MARGARITA APIZZA
Ah-Beetz sauce, fresh mozzarella, pecorino Romano, basil, oregano
