Day Trip to West Palm Beach – Top 10 Things to Do
We make it easy to get around downtown! If you don’t feel like walking, take advantage of our free trolley system or download the Circuit app…think Uber in the form of a golf cart and they drive for tips.
1. West Palm Beach Greenmarket (Saturdays)
West Palm Beach Greenmarket – Saturdays 9:00 – 1:00 from October through April on Clematis at the Waterfront. Cooking Light Magazine named the downtown West Palm Beach Greenmarket the best in the state citing the diversity of vendors, waterfront location, live entertainment, bottomless mimosas and pooch friendly vibe. Dr. Oz, a Palm Beach resident, gives it a thumbs-up too! Taste Cuban food, Columbian food, New York style bagels and don’t miss the tropical fruit booth brimming with local exotic produce.
2. Sky Bikes
Upon exiting the Brightline train station, you’ll see our blue Sky Bikes that you can rent by the hour or by the day. Grab a bike and explore our beautiful waterfront paths. The waterfront path in West Palm Beach runs 5 miles south and 2 miles north along the intercostal and through our historic districts. Just a short hop over the bridge and you can enjoy the Lake Trail and admire the mansions on Palm Beach.
3. West Palm Beach Food Tour
Make the most of your day trip to West Palm Beach and let Downtown West Palm Beach Food Tours introduce you to 6 of the best, locally owned restaurants! You’ll meet chefs, learn to open a coconut, explore hidden tropical courtyards and hear crazy stories about our past. Reservations are required and tours sell out quickly. Tours are offered Monday through Saturday from 11 – 2, and the tour begins just 3 blocks from the Brightline train station. PS – West Palm Beach Food Tours were recently named by Trip Advisor as one of the “Top 10 Tour Experiences in the United States!”
4. Palm Beach Segway Tours
Get a glimpse of glitzy Palm Beach on a Palm Beach Segway Tour. After a quick lesson, they’ll have you rolling through downtown West Palm Beach and over the bridge to see the sights of Palm Beach. 1 and 2 hours tours are available everyday, tours depart just a few blocks from the Brightline station and reservations are required.
5. Get Out on the Water!
The West Palm Beach Visitor’s Center rents kayaks, jet skis, paddle boards and jet packs. Soak up the sun and gawk at some fabulous mansions! If you prefer to stay dry, try their Catamaran Cruises. The Visitors Center is located in our waterfront park at 100 N. Clematis Street.
The West Palm Beach waterfront is certainly the main attraction downtown, and there’s no better place to walk or to relax. Admire mega-yachts, enjoy a festival or a concert (most weekends) and have a picnic!
7. Rosemary Square (formerly City Place)
If shopping is your thing, head to Rosemary Square where you’ll find the fabulous flagship Restoration Hardware (don’t miss the rooftop cafe), Anthropologie, Lucky, Sephora and restaurants like Cheesecake Factory and Brio. Free concerts are almost always happening on Friday and Saturday nights along with many special events. Check out the Rosemary Square event calendar to take advantage of all the fun.
8. Cycle Party
Best way to check out the bar scene in West Palm Beach? Cycle Party is a pedal-powered pub crawl that’s sure to keep you entertained!
9. Sunday Brunch
If you’re in town on a Sunday, the brunch scene downtown is quite lively. Expect delicious food, bottomless mimosas and live music. Our top picks for brunch are: Hullabaloo – sit on their back patio in the retro Airstream trailer, and enjoy their brunch burger, almond French toast or Italian sausage and ricotta omelette.
The Blind Monk – they often have live jazz and you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
Dr. Limon – this trendy Peruvian ceviche bar serves up bottomless mimosas in 8 flavors! Think passionfruit, mango, pineapple and more.
Avocado Grill – beautiful restaurant just steps from the West Palm Beach Waterfront with lots of avocado dishes and plenty of menu items for those who don’t love avocados.
Pistache – named “Best Brunch” by the Palm Beach Post in 2018. Dine on their patio overlooking the West Palm Beach waterfront.
