Clematis Street, West Palm Beach: Where to Eat, Drink & Explore

If downtown West Palm Beach has a main character, it’s Clematis Street. This is the strip where the fountains dance, the patios stay full, and  — the people-watching is elite. We spend so much time here on our food tours that we’re pretty sure a few hostesses think we’re on the payroll. So we put together the real, no-fluff guide: where to eat, where to drink, and what to do on Clematis Street, straight from the people who walk it for a living.

Where to Eat & Drink on Clematis Street

West Palm Cowboy Club — Best for Boots, BBQ & Basslines

📍 200 Clematis St

Yes, there’s a DJ Diplo-backed Nashville-meets-South-Florida barbecue joint on Clematis Street, and no, we’re not over it. West Palm Cowboy Club brings serious Western energy — think smoked brisket, hearth-fired pizzas, and cornbread that might ruin regular cornbread for you forever — with a full lineup of live music, sports, and late-night hours that stretch to 3am on weekends.

What to order: The smoked brisket, obviously. Save room for the peach-glazed spare ribs. Insider tip: This is a stop on our Prohibition Dinner and Drinks Tour — come hungry and ready to two-step. Good to know: Open until 2-3am Thursday–Saturday, so it’s your late-night safety net if the rest of Clematis is winding down.

Pistache French Bistro — Best for “Fancy, But Make It Fun”

📍 101 N Clematis St

Pistache has been doing Parisian-meets-Mediterranean right since 2008, and it shows — this is the kind of place that wins “Best Brunch” and “Best Power Lunch” awards and still makes you feel like a regular. Elegant without an ounce of stuffiness, with a wine list that’s earned its own accolades.

What to order: The unlimited Rosé brunch on Saturdays is not a drill. Insider tip: Happy hour runs daily 4:30–6:30pm — perfect pre-dinner pit stop. Good to know: Complimentary valet parking daily, so no circling the block required.

E.R. Bradley’s Saloon — Best Waterfront People-Watching

📍 104 S Clematis St

E.R. Bradley’s has been West Palm’s “backyard” since 1984, and it earns that title honestly — a genuine waterfront landmark with live music and DJs 365 days a year, right on the water next to Palm Beach Island. This is the spot for brunch that turns into lunch that turns into “wait, is it dinner already?”

What to order: Brunch runs weekends 8am–3pm — go early, stay late. Insider tip: There’s a Hawaiian shave ice counter (Aloha & Stoke) tucked inside for when it’s approximately 900 degrees outside. Which, in West Palm, is often. Good to know: Free valet parking on Datura Street — one of the easier parking wins downtown.

Shanghai’d — Best for “Faraway Flavors” Late Night

📍 519 Clematis St

Shanghai’d calls itself “an unexpected adventure to faraway flavors,” and honestly, that’s exactly the vibe — bold Asian-inspired dishes from Executive Chef Kevin Avellaneda in a stylish, moody space that feels like a plot twist in the middle of Clematis Street. It’s part of the Subculture Group, so you already know the design and drink game are strong.

What to order: Let the small plates come out however the kitchen wants — this is a share-everything kind of menu. Insider tip: It’s one of the stops on our downtown food tour — we won’t spoil which dish gets the biggest reaction. Good to know: Open until midnight Friday and Saturday, with weekend service kicking off at 11:30am.

🎶 Where to Explore on Clematis Street

Clematis by Night — every Thursday, 6–9pm, Centennial Square & Great Lawn This is the free, open-air concert series that’s been running for 30 years — rock, reggae, country, blues, Latin, you name it. Bring a lawn chair or blanket, grab a drink from a nearby patio, and enjoy what locals call “the city’s open-air happy hour tradition.” Best part: it’s completely free.

The West Palm Beach GreenMarket — Saturday mornings, October thru May, on the waterfront Right at the foot of Clematis Street, our own favorite green market tour territory — local farm vendors, fresh produce, and some seriously good exotic fruit finds.

Centennial Square & the Fountain The literal heart of Clematis Street, where the street spills out onto Flagler Drive and the Intracoastal. Great photo op, better sunset spot, and the anchor point for Clematis by Night.

The shops and patios in between Clematis Street is a genuinely walkable strip — cafés, boutiques, and open-air patios line the entire street, with live music regularly spilling onto the sidewalks. Translation: you don’t need a plan. Just start walking.
